This tutorial is for those who have working knowledge

with Paint Shop Pro. This is an medium/advanced tutorial.

 

This tutorial used a very cute PTU Tagger Kit from

Nette NightOwl Works called: Sand Between My Toes

Becky's site is longer around. If your prefer not to use the

premade one you can use any mask you like.

The I used Beach Bum Gradient 2 provided supplies.

Let’s get started
! Be sure to save often!

 

Open up your template from ChiChi Designs: Chichi_temp_7

Save as your tag name, so you can use her template again and not save over it.

Now hide the top layer (copyrights)

Go to the very bottom of the template layer,

create an new transparent raster layer.

Flood Fill White. So you can see better with your elements.

Label this layer Main Background Layer.

 

Copy and paste your mask provided in the supplies as a new layer.

Make sure it's just above your background layer.

 

Click on your halftone layer of the template to make active.

Select All, Float, Defloat, Flood Fill with the

Beach Bum Gradient 2 provided in the supplies. Now Deselect.

*To Deselect, top tool bar, selections, select none.

Duplicate this layer. Click on the top halftone layer to make active.

Apply Filter Factory Gallery A: Pool Shadow, using default settings.

Click on the BlackLines Layer of the template to make active.

Select All, Float, Defloat. Modify/Expand by 2.

Flood fill with paper nnw sand paper5 from the kit. Now Deselect.

Click on grad graincircle layer of the template to make active.

Colorize to a burnt orange.

*To colorize, top tool bar in PSP, Adjust, Hue & Saturation, Colorize.

Hue: 15, Saturation: 210. Then hit ok to apply.

Click on the pink circle of the template to make active. Colorize again.

But set the Hue: 15 Saturation: 205 (Color of Sand)

I left the Black Circle Layer of the template as Black.

 

Now open up your Sand Between Your Toes Tagger Kit.

Now choose your elements of choice from the kit,

I used:  nnw sbt beachstones and shells

Copy and paste as a new layer. Resize By 40%.

Make sure this layer is above the black circle layer.

See mine to reference.

 

Click on the black frame (Polaroid) layer of the template to make active.

Flood Fill with the Beach Bum Gradient 1 provided in the supplies.

Now apply an Illuminations effect: Sunburst (default settings).

This isn't a special filter, it comes with PSPX.

*To apply, top tool bar in PSPX, Effects, Illumination effects,

Sunburst with these settings (default) below.

Just drag the little + in the left image to the top of the layer.

 

Now open up nnw sbt sea from the kit. Resize By 40%

Use your pick tool to rotate to fit the image of black frame.

Use your free hand selection tool, settings: point to point, feather 1.

This is usually hidden under your pick tool. Select the bottom that you

want to appear in the "Polaroid" and hit delete on your keyboard. Deselect.

Now change the opacity (transparency) to 53%.

Open up nnw sbt sandcastle from the kit.

Copy and paste as a new layer. Resize by 18%.

Free rotate again to fit in the image,

erase the extra at the bottom so it appears to fit again

using the same instructions from above. 

Change the opacity (transparency) to 95%.

nnw sbt beachchair and umbrella:

Copy and paste as a new layer. Resize By 60%.

Make sure this layer is above your "Polaroid" layer but

under your pink and black rectangle layer,

 position in the middle. See mine to reference.

 

Now click on the Pink rectangle layer of the template to make active.

Colorize to a burnt orange again: Hue: 15, Saturation: 210.

Click on the black rectangle layer of the template to make active.

Duplicate. Leaving the black one alone.

Click on the duplicate black rectangle layer to make active.

Select All, Float, Defloat. Flood Fill with Beach Bum Gradient 1.

Apply Filter Factory A: Pool Shadow again, leaving at default settings.

Duplicate once more. Click on the new duplicate layer to make active.

Apply the sunburst/Illumination Settings again.

 

Open up the nnw sbt ocean element from the kit.

Copy and paste as a new layer. Resize by 50%.

Position using your pick tool above your rectangle top layer.

Click the black layer to make active. Select All, Float, Defloat, Invert.

Click on the nnw sbt ocean element to make active again,

hit delete on your keyboard. Now Deselect.

Open up the nnw sbt balloon element from the kit.

Copy and paste as a new layer. Resize by 40%.

Use your pick tool and position over the very top of the rectangle layers.

Open up the nnw sbt bbum tag element from the kit.

Resize by 22%. Position over the top of the rectangle layers. See mine to reference.

 

Now Copy and paste a tube of your choice.

I used a stunning tube called: Bikini Babe by Jose Cano.

Copy and paste as new layer. Resize by 95%. 

Make sure this tube layer is underneath your "Gotcha"

word art layers of the template. See mine to reference.

 

Click on the Gotcha back layer of the template to make active.

Darken/Adjust the the Brightness & Contrast to -33.

*To adjust, go to top tool bar in PSPX, Adjust Brightness And Contrast,

Brightness/Contrast, Brightness to -33, Contrast 0.

Now colorize to a burnt orange again: Hue: 15, Saturation: 210.

Leave the Gotcha layer of the template as black.

Duplicate once. Flood Fill with the Beach Bum Gradient 1.

Apply the Pool Shadow Settings again (settings default).

Open up the nnw sbtstarscatter element from the kit.

Copy and paste as a new layer. Resize By 65%.

 

Now add your word art and name to the tag.

Word Art is provided in the supplies or you can type your own.

I used font VNI-Thufap3.

Font size 20,  Stroke Width 1. Foreground Color Code: #841c00

and Background paper:  nnw sand paper5 from the kit.

  Now add your copyrights and watermark.

Crop your tag to get rid of any access space. Then resize to your preference.

Save as a JPG with the white background or

 hide the main white background layer and

save as a PNG (for transparent background)

You are now done!
